Rootabaga Stories.

An unconventional place to find some great junk journal ephemera or embellishments for any whimsical craft projects. The illustrations are in a plain black & white format and can be colored or added to as needed.
The Stories
Before you look at this book to tear apart, we must discuss the content of this book. It is by Carl Sandberg and was originally published in 1922. The one I have listed is from 1951. It is full of tales and poems about whimsical characters and magical places. It is funny, entertaining, and very creatively done.
Written for his own daughters, Sandberg's storybook is the fairy tale stories you didn't know you needed.

The Images
The illustrations are perfect for the stories but also perfect if you use books for crafting.
Whimsical Junk Journal Ephemera -
Cut the images out and turn them into tags, cards, clusters, and more

Perfect paper crafting and collage embellishments. The pictures come in all sizes from full page to small corner images.

(bugs dancing and a wheelbarrow full of goldfish wearing jewelry? Sign me up for that story!)
This book caught my eye first as a writer with the creative style and off-the-wall ideas. Talk about an imagination! It impressed me second as a collage artist. There is so much you can do with these images. And there are a lot of them in this book! They are sure to keep you busy for a long time!
