Altered Playing Cards - Making Smaller Art

Altered Playing Cards - Making Smaller Art

Ok you might call them ATCs. I love ATCs. But I didn't create these kits with the TRADING part in mind. I created them with art in mind. Find the packs here

A few months ago, a woman emailed me asking if I could put together a kit of images that would fit on playing cards so she could alter a deck of cards for her fiance. She told me the things she'd like images of and I curated a collection of great things she could use to alter the cards with.

A little while after that, I received another message from another person with the same type of request. And it may have taken a minute, but I finally caught on and made up these packs. It took me creating my own cards and getting frustrated that I couldn't find images to fit without fishing through hundreds of other images. Why not have a bunch of images that fit on a playing card in one place?

Smaller art seems to be trending a bit right now and playing cards are the perfect size! They aren't so small that you get aggravated and they aren't so big that they take up a ton of space. They are the perfect size if you are looking to size down a bit. Plus, local art and creative reuse stores are stocking Art-O-Mats with small art by local artists and maybe you can be one of the artists that they stock in their machines!

(An Art-O-Mat is basically a vintage cigarette machine that places are repurposing into art machines where they showcase small local artists. Some places charge for the art, some places offer it for free. Research in your area and see if its something you are interested in!)

There are enough paper bits to add 3 items to each card. PLUS I decided to throw in a smaller baggy of sequins and fibers to add texture and fun to the cards.

I also included a few card-sized painty papers in case you wanted to cover the entire card with a background.

You will receive these items in one of my sewn book page envelopes that can then be used to store the cards in after they are altered.

I have included a huge variety of images, map pieces, painty paper pieces, fussy cut goodies, small handmade embellishments, etc.

These do not necessarily have to become ATCs. You can absolutely make them into ATCs, however, I made these with art experimentation in mind. So, feel free to use your own supplies and craft goods on these cards and use the images in this pack for other projects!
