Mega Collage Medley to Help Shift Creativity

Mega Collage Medley to Help Shift Creativity

I have boxes, bags, baskets, drawers, and piles of images I've cut out of books, magazines, junk mail, catalogs, and any other paper goods I could get my hands on. There are more images than I'll ever use. Find these packs here

I created a YouTube video breaking them down so you can see a little more detail of what you may get HERE

I have created envelopes out of music pages, die cut anything that would run through my Sizzix Big Shot (I am an Amazon Affiliate and I make a small commission on purchases made using my links)

What am I going to do with THOUSANDS of book images, die cuts, fussy cut images, etc.? Share them! Obviously! So I put together these giant packs of over 160 pieces!

Some of the places these images are sourced from:

*National Geographic magazines

*National Geographic books

*Vintage Collectible Books

*Vintage and antique readers

*Magazines dating back to the 1950s

*Music Books

*Patterned paper

*Vintage yearbooks dating back to 1940s

*Various fine art books

*Various history books

*Vintage encyclopedia images from the 1950s-1970s

*Quote books

*Small art bits made by me

*Premium quality wrapping paper

*Vintage wallpaper

*Kids book/dictionary

*Misc Rook cards

*Die cuts

*Commercial ephemera

*Painty papers

And much more! I have collected and harvested hundreds of books and its time to share some of the goodies I have collected (*hoarded) over the years.

Some ideas to use these for:

~Gluebooks/art journals/altered books

~Card making

~Junk journal ephemera

~Turn the black & white photos into grungy ephemera

~Use squares and rectangles for journaling cards

~Collage or decoupage just about anything

~Alter the cards included

~Grunge up the yearbook photos for fun ephemera or paperclip embellishments

~Small images would be great to embellish just about anything

~Belly bands, tucks, pockets

~One-of-a-kind papercraft art pieces

The possibilities are endless.

Where can you go to find collage fodder?

Thrift stores are my favorite places for books. Think photography books... National Geographic makes series of books with amazing photography. Textbooks often have great images and fonts to play with. Kids books have awesome images and colors to play with, too!

Don't forget that you can make your own. You can create doodle flowers on magazine or book pages, you can paint/stencil/stamp junk mail and cut shapes or tear pieces off.

Ask your friends and family! People tend to collect magazines without any plans for them and are more than happy to get rid of them if someone will use them as opposed to throwing them out.

What about free stuff?

Companies still offer catalogs for free! Seed catalogs, decor, furniture, seasonal, yard and garden...there are a lot of free catalogs!

And be sure to search for travel guides. Almost (if not all) every state throughout the USA offer free travel guides that have awesome images and texture for collage backgrounds and fussy cutting!

The internet is your friend for free! Check if you have a local Freecycle chapter and create a post asking. Search Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor App, and local Buy Nothing Facebook Groups.

If you have any other ideas to help people out, leave them in the comments below!

If you buy a pack from me...

No two packs are the same. They are all unique and full of images that will spark your creativity and help to push you out of your comfort zone and try something a little different. Not every image is everyone's cup of tea which is one reason I made these so big. Maybe this is your sign to exercise that creative muscle and see what you can create with these beautiful pieces!

Be sure to tag me in your work. And if you sign up for my newsletter, you'll get a coupon code in the Welcome email that you can use for these. If you tag me in your posts, I'll send you an even bigger coupon code to use on anything on my website!
