I was SHOCKED when I came across these vintage Highlights magazines WITH the carboard holder in such good shape!
As we all know, magazines (especially kids magazines) don't last. The staple bindings and flimsy paper can only be flipped through so many times before they begin falling apart. But these puppies.....they're survivors!
The dates I have are mainly 1990s with one from 2000. 1993, 1994, 1995 are the rest. There are 15 magazines total!
The paper is still in good shape - not too brittle and no tears or creases anywhere.
The stories, puzzles, and lessons learned from these simple publications are invaluable. I never got the subscription but I did enjoy them every time I went to the library or during school.
These particular ones weren't heavily used. A few of them have some pencil marks on a page or two and a couple of them had pencil marks on the covers. Other than that, the majority of the puzzles are untouched and the stories still have many years of valuable lessons to be taught! The photo here shows the extent of markings. Very light pencil marks. A few pages have stains and there's discoloration due to the type of paper but as far as children's magazines go, these are in pretty good shape!
These are a fun blast from the past for any millennial. We grew up with these! Share them with your kids. Show them to your family and friends. Take some time and reminisce over the innocent fun we used to have with these magazines!
Even if you aren't a millenial...these are a great gift for a friend or family member that may need a distraction from the troubles today's society brings. The stories and puzzles are so much fun!
