I have unrealistic dreams.
That's what dreams are, after all, right?
So I decided to create a journal that includes all of the gorgeous gardens, decor, furniture, oceans, etc. that I wish I had in my yard. Some of it may come to fruition but most of it will remain a dream.
When I'm harvesting books/magazines, I always pull out the pretty yard/garden pictures...never sure what to do with them besides add them to random gluebooks (which is a ton of fun) but now that I'm thinking about my yard and ways to turn it into an oasis for myself, I decided to start adding all of those images in one place. Enter-YARD DREAMS JOURNAL!

I created some collage-style pages. These are just pretty things to look at with small ideas all clustered together. Naturally, I have to fill some pages with a big mish-mash of images since that's how I am! Note all the suns and moon stuff - I love them and really wish that part of the 90s would make a comeback!

Where I'm finding these things...
*Magazines (think home, garden, nature, general decor, lifestyle magazines)
*Gardening books (all kinds of gardening books)
*Yard/Decor books
*Seed Catalogs
The two pictures above show images from a book and the second picture has images found specifically in magazines.
Now, one weird place that I've found amazing pictures is fashion magazines. Weird, I know...but some of the pics where they have the weird looking models posing in some strange position have incredible backdrops! So, don't be afraid to use partial images, strips, small squares (unless you want the weird models in there - then go for it!). Think outside the box and look through what you have before you go hunting for magazines (and when you do go hunting, be sure to check with family, friends, businesses, and libraries for free ones!)
Travel magazines can have some amazing pictures to include in your own yard dreams journal. Different places in the world are beautiful. And remember, this is a book of your DREAMS! So, absolutely cut out the image where the back yard is the ocean! Definitely cut that beach house out that is covered in nautical art! They make your eyeballs happy so go for it!

It might be tempting to find all of the full page images and just slap all those down, but be sure to look for the small pics and WORDS! I don't have any quotes or words to go in mine yet, but I do have lots of words to sift through so I can add them as I go!

You can create an accordion pocket in the back of your book to store all of your images. In my case, I only keep my smaller pics in it and the larger pics are just tucked in the book.
