This piece is 100% repurposed. The paint used was secondhand, the frame was saved from a future in a landfill, and the beautiful lady front-and-center is from a vintage 1960s sewing pattern. What once lived in a box buried in a closet is now the focal point of a beautiful, simple piece of art looking for a home.

These sewing patterns came from a family whose mother was an avid seamstress. The pattern itself was heavily used and the paper packaging I cut this woman from was fragile and brittle from years of use and storage. These patterns sat in a covered paper box in the back of a closet until I showed up to save them.

So, while I tried to keep the sewing pattern people organized by condition, she may not be perfect. Sewing pattern packaging isn't the easiest to preserve. But you want to know something? None of us are perfect. Yet, we are all beautiful. She deserves the same chance we all do.
